Hard work and determination pays off
As a result of the training provided by CrestClean, Mr Kumar has gained his the National Certificate in Cleaning and Caretaking, and he has now gained his NZQA Assessors Certificate qualification. This allows Neil to assess students in the Unit Standards that lead to a National Certificate. Neil has now become one of CrestClean’s assessors working with new CrestClean trainees.
Recently Neil travelled to Delhi, India where he helped assess the supervisors of CrestClean’s fast growing Indian housekeeping business. This was a great experience for Neil, not only did he enjoy sightseeing, but he had the opportunity to impart some Kiwi knowledge to supervisors at CrestClean Delhi.
Fluent in Hindi, Mr Kumar’s support of the business’s training operations in India is an example of why New Zealand’s Trade and Enterprise is assisting CrestClean’s international expansion. It demonstrates that a well-run New Zealand business, with comprehensive systems in place can expand onto the world stage.
Mr Kumar is enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead of him and continues to be amazed at the opportunities that a company like CrestClean has offered him.
Born in Fiji he moved to New Zealand in 2003 and was introduced to the franchising business model by his brother in law who also works with CrestClean.
“I have to thank my brother in law for introducing me to the company that has enabled me to build a very successful business here in New Zealand. I have never been so busy,” said Mr Kumar.
This success is a direct result of Kumar’s hard work and passionate determination to succeed. He undertook the company’s NZQA training programme which subsequently saw him presenting and assessing new course options for CrestClean’s nationwide franchisees.
Mr Kumar has been a valuable asset for the Dunedin based head office of CrestClean. Managing Director Grant McLauchlan said that “Neil Kumar has demonstrated that hard work and training can provide not only a very good business income, but also open up opportunities for greater learning.”
For Mr Kumar, the recipe for his success boils down to a few key elements. “I’m passionate about helping others learn, but that also includes being passionate about furthering my learning. Thankfully CrestClean provides that opportunity for me”.
The mix of a New Zealand company ensuring that its franchisees receive comprehensive and NZQA recognised qualifications, alongside the opportunity to earn a good living certainly has paid off for Mr Kumar.
