Crest Franchisee Wins Prestigious Pathways Award
Congratulations to Leo Wang, a CrestClean franchisee in West Auckland, who has won a Pathways to the Future Trust Award.
Leo is one of 12 recipients of this exciting scholarship, which is a joint project of Rosebank Business Association and Rotary Club New Lynn, and awards education and travel funds to ambitious young West Aucklanders looking to advance their careers and business skills.
Leo was awarded $2,000 to cover expenses to attend the 2015 China Clean Expo in Shanghai. The three-day conference is attended by over 20,000 people involved in the commercial cleaning industry and features approximately 400 exhibitors from 30 countries.
Leo was nominated for the award by Caroline Wedding, Regional Director for CrestClean West Auckland. Leo has owned a franchise for three years and is CrestClean’s trainer for the Pure Water Window Cleaning System. He’s been integral in developing the innovative window cleaning system for use in all of CrestClean’s regions.
Caroline was overjoyed to receive the news that he’d won. “I’m so pleased to see Leo succeeding. He has great initiative and a real head for business,” she says. “He’s an excellent ambassador for CrestClean at this Expo in China.”
In addition to Caroline and business guests, four of Leo’s friends and his wife, Vivien, joined him at the awards ceremony, which featured guest speaker Sir Bob Harvey, live jazz entertainment, and lots of Auckland success stories.
“I’m so happy, that’s what I felt that night,” recalls Leo of the award ceremony. “But, I’m also feeling a lot of responsibility about attending the Expo and seeking any opportunities for CrestClean in China. I have already made several contacts and got invitations to visit factories and see the manufacturing of new time saving technologies.
“There are so many things I want to look at – not only commercial cleaning tools but also knowledge of how to clean for certain industries. I’m very, very happy about this opportunity.”
