Shared lunches are continuing to strengthen the bond between Rotorua and Taupo franchisees.

Rotorua/Taupo/Whakatane Regional Manager Bill Douglas says the shared lunches, which happen once every two months, are a chance for franchisees to network and catch up with each other.

“We hold these in Rotorua. It is a great opportunity for everyone to get together. Franchisees travel from Taupo,” he says. “The reason why we started these was because no one knew each other. Everyone knows each other now and they look forward to them. Everyone is always busy so they don’t often get a chance to catch up.”

Each shared lunch is also a celebration of culture.

The shared lunch is also a celebration of culture as each franchisee brings a different dish from their country for everyone to try.

“Everyone gets to sample something different. There is everything from sausage rolls to a selection of curries. It brings all the nationalities together. It is great. The franchisees are lovely people,” he says.

Previous shared lunches have included a guest speaker.

“We have had guest speakers in the past that have talked to franchisees about how to run a small business. It is good because they provide franchisees with a lot of information whether it is about loans or insurance. It is a good opportunity for them to ask questions too,” he says.
