Quality co-ordinator’s good deed
CrestClean Auckland Quality Assurance Co-ordinator Rajesh Narayan helped make a stressful situation easier for a mother and her sick daughter at Middlemore Hospital.
Leanne Truscott had rushed her daughter, Olivia, who had pneumonia, to Middlemore Hospital. When she arrived and attempted to pay for car parking, the card options were not working and she didn’t have any cash on her.
“Nothing was going right for me that day. It was raining and I had my arms full of stuff for my daughter because she was admitted, I was upset,” she says.
Rajesh could see how frustrated and upset Leanne was and came to her rescue by giving her money to help pay for car parking.
“I gave her some coins. I felt good helping her. She was really frustrated not being able to use her card at the parking machine,” he says. “I am also a parent and understand what it feels like when your kids are sick.”
Leanne was very appreciative of Rajesh’s kind gesture.
“It was the nicest thing anyone could have done for me at that point. I couldn’t believe it. People don’t do this enough. I will never forget what he did for me that day. It meant so, so much to me,” she says.
“I am just glad I could help,” says Rajesh.
