Hard Floor training has community spin off
When CrestClean’s Wellington team was looking for a training venue the outcome was a win-win for everyone.
The Hard Floor Care course, run by the Master Cleaners Training Institute, teaches newbies to the cleaning industry the essentials of how to manage and maintain a range of different floor surfaces.
Dan Sharma, CrestClean’s Wellington Regional Trainer, said Muritai School Hall provided the perfect venue. It had a large expanse of floor and the wooden surface was well overdue for a much-needed facelift.
The hall doubles as a community facility and money was tight, said Dan.
“It is run by the community and they couldn’t really afford to spend money on the floor. They were really happy to have it done free of charge.”
“The floor was in a bad condition. We stripped it back and put on four coats of polish.”
Dan says participants on the two-day course had a chance to practice their new skills and everyone was more than pleased with the result.
“It just turned out really well when you look at the finish result. It was great for our guys. They learned everything and did a great job and they knew exactly what to do.
“I was really pleased. When we get a finished result like this it feels great. We’re also helping the community and it feels good.”
Richard Brodie, CrestClean’s Wellington Regional Manager, was delighted with how the training had gone.
“It was good to be able to do this. For the school, the community and Crest. It’s a win, win, win for everyone.”
