CrestClean’s support of the education sector has been boosted with the announcement of a sponsorship deal for the Secondary Principals’ Association of New Zealand (SPANZ).

With more than 430 schools being cleaned by CrestClean personnel nationwide, the company has significant experience of providing services to the education sector.

CrestClean has a number of corporate social responsibility programmes and initiatives, such as supporting the New Zealand Principals’ Federation (NZPF), sponsorship of local school cluster groups and a scheme that provides rugby skills training to youngsters.

CrestClean’s Managing Director Grant McLauchlan said he was delighted CrestClean was now a Bronze Sponsor to SPANZ.

“We have been long time sponsors of the New Zealand Principals’ Federation and we have enjoyed a very successful partnership with them.

“Over the past two or three years we’ve seen significant increase in enquiries for cleaning services from the secondary school sector.”

Grant said with more schools scrutinising their cleaning and caretaking services, it made sense to forge closer business and community ties with the country’s largest education establishments.

“We have started cleaning contracts at six or seven secondary schools in the past year, so we thought we’d better hold hands.

“We want to extend our relationship in the education sector. We’ve refined our systems on primary schools and have adapted them.

“Secondary schools are quite different so through this membership and involvement we want to better understand the needs of the secondary school sector.”

Jo Young, Executive Manager for SPANZ, said a high value was put on business partnerships.

“This sponsorship by CrestClean is highly important to us as we are a non-profit organisation and we do rely on our business partners as well as our membership.

“We really value what CrestClean can offer outside the square and we are looking forward to hearing about all your cool stuff at our conference.”

A talking point at recent education conferences attended by CrestClean was the company’s recently introduced Property Caretaking service. The contracted service is proving popular and provides schools with a viable alternative to directly employing a caretaker.

Nikki Wallis, Crest’s Marketing and Events Co-ordinator, said it had been a busy year organising trade stands for the various education conferences around New Zealand that the company supports.

“We are very well known among the principals’ associations and our support is valued.”

She said among the giveaways to delegates at conferences were CrestClean’s school posters in English and Te Reo Maori. The colourful posters provide a friendly and fun reminder about the importance of hygiene and tidiness issues.

“We’ve had to do four reprints in the past year,” she added. “One of our Regional Managers recently attended a New Zealand School Trustees Association conference in Dunedin. We supplied him with a pile of posters and he ran out within minutes.”
