Pure Water Window Cleaning comes to the North

Mohini Coppersmith and Tarun Kumar have already expanded their CrestClean business in Whangarei.

Mohini Coppersmith and Tarun Kumar have already expanded their CrestClean business in Whangarei.

A CrestClean couple are spearheading the company’s Pure Water Window Cleaning that’s now available in Northland.

Tarun Kumar and Mohini Coppersmith, who own a CrestClean business in Whangarei, have attended an upskilling course so they can offer the highly-specialist window service to customers.

Pure Water Window Cleaning provides cost effective, chemical-free window cleaning solutions for buildings up to four storeys high.

CrestClean’s Whangarei Regional Manager Jim McManus expected a big demand for the new service. “It’s a key step for our brand in terms of expanding the services we can offer,” he says.

One of the first bookings for Pure Water Window Cleaning had been a post-construction clean of a brand new block at Whangarei Girls’ High School.

“A big feature of the Pure Water system is customers don’t have to worry about chemicals being used on the exterior of the building.”

Jim predicts a lot of interest for the service in the Kerikeri area, where there was a strong emphasis on the environment around the horticultural industry.

“It’s the nature of the region that they have an environmental focus and the Pure Water system dovetails nicely as it’s clean and green.”

Tarun and Mohini have made a big impression with their customers since they joined CrestClean.

“All the customers comment that they are really hard working,” says Jim. “Tarun wins customers over by his attention to detail and his approach to the job.”

The couple have had their cleaning business for less than a year. Tarun says he was impressed by the training he received from the Master Cleaners Training Institute.

“Crest is serious about training and I like the way they teach you things with real life scenarios. It gave me a lot of confidence to do my job well.”

Tarun’s introduction to commercial cleaning came when he was a student in Auckland. He worked for two cleaning companies to help subside his living expenses.

But compared with CrestClean, the experience of working for other commercial cleaning companies was not great, he says. “You’re on your own and there was no training, nothing. It was not a good experience.”

Now business owners, the couple see a bright future in the cleaning industry. In the short time they’ve been with CrestClean the size of their business has doubled.

“It’s much better than working for someone else. I can expand the business again in future, it’s a good feeling,” says Tarun.

“We hope to be able to buy a home of our own one day, we’re very happy.”
