Upskilling takes floor care to next level

Randeep Singh led the Hard Floor Care upskilling course. Attending were Sandeep Kaumar and wife Richa, Amrit Singh and wife Karamjit and Ashitosh Prasad

He’s a shining example of someone who just won’t accept second best.

When it comes to floor care there’s precious little Randeep Singh doesn’t know about cleaning and polishing. And he not only takes great pride in his work, he loves passing on his knowledge and skills to fellow CrestClean business owners.

Randeep’s hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed, says Robert Glenie, CrestClean’s South Canterbury Regional Manager.

“When it comes to being a perfectionist with floors there is only one man you think of in South Canterbury and that’s Randeep Singh.

“He loves what he does and loves teaching people how to do their work to the highest standard.”

But Randeep’s desire to do the best job possible has provoked some gentle ribbing from his wife Kiran, says Robert.

“Kiran tells me at times he is too fussy! And yes, he is fussy but that’s not a bad thing to be passionate about what you do.”

Hard Floor Care training took centre stage recently at Methven Preschool where Randeep delivered a specialist course on behalf of the Master Cleaners Training Institute.

CrestClean franchisees freely gave up their time to attend the upskilling event, says Robert.

“While most of us were away enjoying a well-earned break, some of the Crestclean teams in Mid and South Canterbury were adding to their already impressive range of skills with a two-day hard floor training course.”

Dealing with floors requires an in-depth knowledge as no two surfaces are ever quite the same, says Robert.

“Unfortunately we see time and time again where untrained people have had a go at laying polish without the correct training – or even worse no training at all.”

He says when CrestClean’s floor experts are called in customers are frequently left astonished by the results.

“If vinyl floors are stripped back, buffed and polish laid correctly it can revitalise those old worn looking floors and make them look like new.”

Robert says there is a growing demand for floor work “We now have several teams in South Canterbury qualified in laying polish.

“We get quite busy at this time of year as we undertake a lot of extra jobs for our clients such as carpet cleaning, window cleaning and spring cleans.

“It is reassuring to know that when our teams go out to complete these specialised jobs that customers can be assured of a high quality result.”
