CrestClean franchisees put a shine on this floor they tackled.

It was a challenge that could easily floor anyone without the right expertise and practical know how.

But these CrestClean franchisees excelled themselves when a tired vinyl surface went from dull to dazzling after they put into practice what they had learnt from a floor care training course.

The Invercargill business owners were put to the test at a local school by trainer Ashneer Datt during the course run by the Master Cleaners Training Institute.

CrestClean’s Invercargill regional manager Glenn Cockroft was impressed at how well the event had gone.

“The auditorium area of the school had not previously had the vinyl floor polished. It proved to be a great venue for the training to be carried out,” he says.

“The school was very happy to have us use the area for a training exercise and they are delighted with the highly polished floor area that they now have in place.”

Hard floor care is one of the specialist areas that CrestClean’s Invercargill franchisees provide. But making the grade as a floor expert requires determination and a strong commitment from franchisees, says Glenn.

“There is a lengthy training and assessment process that each one must complete before they obtain their certification in that area.”

The team had worked very well together as they carefully stripped, scrubbed and mopped the floor of the auditorium before they put the final coats of polish on.

Glenn said floor care was a skill that could not be rushed if a proper result was to be achieved.

“Attention to detail and correct preparation of the floor surface is the key to achieving a great finish to any polished floor.

“I am pleased to say the franchisees completed all the tasks required with flying colours.”

Glenn says the cost of replacing Vinyl floors can be very high. However, regular maintenance from a fully trained Crest team can extend considerably the longevity of the floors and the need to replace the flooring.

Glenn says he has a number of clients who have been amazed at how good their older floors have looked when they have been stripped and polished in the correct manner.

“Customers say it looks like new vinyl floor has been fitted!”
