Family franchise gets top marks for quality
Progressing through their CrestClean training modules has brought a strong sense of personal achievement, says Otiri Taboia.
Otiri and her husband Taboia are proud owners of a cleaning franchise in Wellsford. Also in the family business are their daughter Taatu and son Boata.
All CrestClean personnel attend initial and ongoing training to ensure they remain at the top of their game. Modules are delivered by the acclaimed Master Cleaners Training Institute.
CrestClean is the largest private trainer of cleaning personnel in New Zealand. Each year more than 200 training events for personnel are run throughout the country.
“We learned a lot from the training and it gives you confidence to do a great job for your customers,” says Otiri.
Their customers are all in Wellsford and include a college and a medical centre. The family are originally from the Pacific island nation of Kiribati.
As well as running their own successful franchise, Otiri and Taboia work at a horticultural producer and exporter of capsicum in Warkworth. Taatu, meanwhile, works at a rest home.
Otiri says their Crest business is doing so well they have plans to expand and take on more work.
“It’s a good job and we like meeting our customers. It feels really good when you have your own business and you can see it will give you a good future.”
Before arriving in New Zealand Taboia worked as a maintenance contractor. His wife had a senior role in office administration.
Neil Kumar, Crest’s North Harbour Regional Manager, says the family franchise is forging ahead and has gained a good reputation for the high standard of their work.
“The team has recently increased the size of their business by 25 percent. The family members are all very hard working and have a positive attitude towards cleaning.
“They have recently received 40 out of 40 in a quality assurance survey. I am glad to have them in my team.”
