CrestClean’s South Auckland Regional Manager Viky Narayan has donated two prizes for a church fundraiser that aims to generate cash to assist with the running costs of its community programmes.

The Family Lifecare Centre at Manukau City Baptist Church will be putting on a special night called ‘It’s in the Bag’. People attending the event on Saturday will be invited to purchase a ticket for a chance to win donated prizes.

Viky has given two Westfield vouchers for the prize pile. “It’s great that the church gives back to the community by running such worthwhile courses,” he says. “I’m delighted that we have been able to support this great programme.”

Norah Greyling, the church’s admin manager, says the fundraiser was crucial and ensured the community programmes could continue.

“It’s nice for our suppliers to get involved with the church and acknowledge what we do. A big thank you to CrestClean for all you support.”

Family Lifecare run free community programmes throughout the year including, English as a second language, Job Club (helping with CV writing, job interview skills) and CAP Money course (assisting people with budgeting).
“These courses are faithfully mentored by volunteers, though we rely on funding and grants to help cover the running costs,” says Norah.

“All the helpers are volunteers. They offer English classes, parenting programmes for new parents. Everything is funded by grants or donations. The fundraising nights mean we can help sustain it ourselves.”

Norah says the fundraiser has been well supported. “This night brings community together as well the opportunity to hear testimonies of how the courses have impacted lives.

“All proceeds from the night will go towards keeping these great resources available for another year.”
