Tidy kids surprise their CrestClean team with a special thank you song

Aznayne Ali arrives with pizza for these tidy kids in Palmerston North.

School children had a big surprise in store for Aznayne Ali and his wife Anjeline Sahayam when the couple arrived to hand out pizza prizes.

The CrestClean business owners were at Palmerston North’s Milson School to present the Cleanest Classroom Award – a competition that rewards kids for being tidy. The classroom that is kept the cleanest in the school is rewarded with a certificate and pizza at the end of term.

After the couple arrived laden with pizza, the youngsters showed their appreciation by performing a song in honour of their school cleaners.

“The teacher said ‘okay it’s now time for us to give you a thank you song’. It was a big surprise for us to be thanked in this way,” said Aznayne. “We felt very proud of the kids and how they thanked us.”

Anjeline captured the youngsters’ special “thank you” song on her phone. “It really shows that they appreciate what we are doing. It was so touching and it really made us so happy,” she said.

Shareen Raj, CrestClean’s Palmerston North / Kapiti Coast Regional Manager, says the Cleanest Classroom Award has proved popular with children and teachers.

“It really motivates the children to keep their classrooms tidy. It means our teams can get straight to work immediately instead of having to pick up rubbish from the floor. It saves us time and it’s a win-win for everyone.”

And she praised Aznayne and Anjeline for the high quality of their work. “They have received some fantastic compliments from all the schools they clean.

“They are always happy to do anything extra for their customers and they frequently go above and beyond what’s expected.”
