A CrestClean team has ensured the windows of Kmart’s new Invercargill store look sparkling as the building moves a step nearer completion.

To get access to the exterior of the store, team members made use of the scaffolding already in place, says Glenn Cockroft, CrestClean’s Invercargill Regional Manager.

“Calder Stewart Construction called on CrestClean to assist with the cleaning of the windows as part of the initial building clean.

“With a stream running below, and access to the area very limited, the team of four franchisees were able to utilise the registered scaffolding to complete the initial clean of the windows while still remaining safe onsite.”

Working at heights needed special clearance, says Glenn. “After sign-off from CrestClean’s National Health and Safety and Wellbeing advisor, the team was able to access the area and work away at cleaning the windows to provide a great service to the client, while also ensuring their own safety on site.

“We don’t normally clean windows off scaffolding. Once the scaffolding is gone cleaning the windows will be a big job that will have to be carried out from the street, either by using a cherry picker or by abseiling down the building.”
