Baby joy for proud new parents

She’s truly a beautiful baby in more ways than one for her proud parents, Harnoor Kaur and Harsandeep Hundal.
For when Harnoor was deciding on a name for her little bundle of joy she came across Humaira – which means “beautiful”.
The North Harbour couple, who own a successful CrestClean business, are over the moon with their first child, who arrived on October 14.
It was while reading a novel that Harnoor chanced across the name. “It is a traditional name, although it’s not very common,” she says. “I liked the name very much and thought, ‘okay that’s what we’ll name her’.”
Harnoor likes the fact their CrestClean business gives Harsandeep the ability to work flexible hours, a bonus with the arrival of the new baby. “My husband gets plenty of time to spend with her,” says Harnoor.
Originally from the Punjab, Harsandeep came to New Zealand in 2014 and studied telecommunications.
His introduction to the commercial cleaning industry came when he helped out a friend in Auckland who had a CrestClean franchise.
Harsandeep, who works as a telco technician, found he enjoyed cleaning and following his marriage to Harnoor, the couple decided to buy a CrestClean business.
“I enjoyed the work so much I thought it would be a good business for us to buy,” he says.
Since joining CrestClean, Harsandeep has undertaken extra training and is now a floor care expert. The couple have grown their business more than 50 per cent and they are delighted with how it’s all working out.
“It is our own business, we own it,” says Harnoor, who used to be the manager of a cafe in Silverdale. “We can decide the times when we work and we are our own bosses. This is what I love about it.”
The regular and guaranteed income from their CrestClean business gives them peace of mind, she says.
The couple say they’ve been impressed by the support from Neil Kumar, CrestClean’s North Harbour Regional Manager. “He’s been very helpful all along. He’s helped us and guided us,” says Harnoor.
Neil says Harsandeep and Harnoor have worked hard to build up their business. “They are really nice people with a very positive attitude.
“I have seen baby Humaira and she is so cute. I am so glad to see my CrestClean team happy and successful.
“Next I would love to see Harsandeep and Harnoor buy a family home of their own. Many of our franchisees are enjoying homeownership through the success of their business.”
