Pizza, ice blocks and plenty of smiles were the order of the day at 11 Canterbury primary and intermediate schools this term.

The excited pupils received the tasty treats as part of CrestClean’s Cleanest Classroom programme.

The programme, which is run at schools cleaned by CrestClean franchisees, rewards the classrooms that are kept the cleanest with a certificate and a prize each term.

South Canterbury Regional Manager Rob Glenie says it’s fantastic to see so many schools in the region getting involved in the programme.

“They have really embraced the concept. Teachers tell us it’s a great way for kids to learn to take responsibility for their learning space,” says Rob.

“It helps instil a sense of pride not only in their classroom but in their school. And, if they take those tidying skills home, even better. I’m sure there would be a lot of happy mums and dads out there if that was the case!”
