Shareen celebrates seven successful years with CrestClean
Shareen Singh and her son Sanil Narayan are celebrating seven successful years as CrestClean business owners.
The Hutt Valley franchisees were proud to be presented with a 7-Year Long Service Award to celebrate the milestone.

Below, Shareen talks about her journey with CrestClean…
How did you find out about CrestClean?
My niece was operating a CrestClean Franchise in Palmerston North and that inspired me to start my own CrestClean business. I was attracted by the idea of being my own boss and picking up my workload according to my own timeframe. I wanted to fit it in together with my other employment. Also, with my children growing fast I found it to be a means of spending time together cleaning.
Does anyone else work in the business with you?
My two sons, Sanil and Shamal. Sanil owns 50 per cent of the business, while Shamal enjoys the paperwork side mostly. During the course of owning the business I have had a few employees working for me and have helped them transition into their own franchises with CrestClean.
Do you work in your CrestClean business fulltime?
I like to keep myself active hence I have a part time job as a healthcare assistant at a rest home. I have worked there for 14 years now. I am also a second-year fulltime nursing student. Prior to CrestClean I was a fulltime worker but have gradually decreased my hours to invest more time in my business and my studies.
What do you like most about CrestClean?
I like the satisfaction of the finished product after cleaning. I feel I have provided a safe and healthy environment by cleaning. Following that I feel proud of the compliments received from my customers.
Has your business grown over the last 7 years?
I started my business with a turnover of $50,000 and now the turnover is $151,000. My cleaning knowledge has also grown vastly. I have attended courses to enhance my knowledge and skills.
How has owning your own business helped you achieve your goals?
We have been able to buy our own home, and this year we bought another house as an investment property. The business has helped me educate both my boys and now both of them have nursing degrees. I was also able to buy two brand new vehicles of my choice for personal use, and to travel the world with my family.
Would you recommend CrestClean to other people?
I already have and will recommend it in the future as well. I really appreciate the teamwork and how CrestClean assists franchisees to become successful businesspeople. It increases your business skills and helps in your personal and family life, where you have more time with your family.
