Watercare’s Mangere Plant considers CrestClean’s Saane Tohi part of the family
Ilaisaane ‘Saane’ Tohi recently has achieved her Certificate in Commercial Cleaning Level Two. This certification has equipped Saane with critical skills in health and safety and practical cleaning tasks.
Saane has been cleaning for Watercare’s Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant for over two years. Office Administrator, Claudia, considers Saane to be an integral part of the Watercare family.
“She is highly respected by staff due to her professionalism and high standard of work,” says Claudia.
“She also has a great sense of humour and takes no nonsense, which we all really like.”
The Mangere Waste WaterTreatment Plant is the largest in New Zealand. Saane takes pride in maintaining various areas of the plant, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for everyone.
Maintaining a large wastewater treatment plant requires a meticulous approach, and Saane tackles her daily tasks with enthusiasm. From keeping the cafeteria spotless to buffing floors, vacuuming carpets, and ensuring the hygiene of bathrooms and offices, she ensures a clean and healthy environment for everyone on-site.
Saane’s willingness to go the extra mile is a quality that sets her apart. Her friendly and approachable nature makes it easy to ask for her help with tasks outside her regular duties. Claudia says Saane exceeds expectations without hesitation.
“She is very accommodating. She just says ‘yes, that’s fine’ and quietly gets on with it,” says Claudia.
“She’s a really positive person.”
Saane’s dedication doesn’t stop at completing tasks; she actively seeks ways to improve cleaning standards throughout the plant. Her continuous efforts to discover new ways to improve efficiencies is recognised by everyone at the plant.
“She’s a great ambassador for CrestClean. She’s a great worker. I can’t speak highly enough of Saane,” says Claudia.
Saane works alongside two other CrestClean team members, and together they ensure Watercare’s stringent hygiene requirements are met every single day. In a facility like a wastewater treatment plant, where hygiene is paramount, the CrestClean team understand what needs to be done to maintain consistently high standards.
Claudia and the Watercare staff love having Saane around every day. Claudia says the enjoyable working relationship comes down to the mutual respect shared between Saane and the entire Watercare staff.
