Everything’s coming up roses for Kamal after 20 years
For two decades, Auckland East franchise owner Kamal Jeet has been a valued member of the Mercury Marine family. Over the years, Kamal has built strong relationships with the staff, with their daily conversations often featuring updates on kids, pets, holidays, and hobbies.
To mark the milestone, Kamal and Auckland East Regional Master Franchisee Linda Hill brought morning tea to Mercury Marine to celebrate with staff. Little did Kamal know, the team had their own special surprise in store for him. Recognising Kamal’s passion for his home-grown roses, the team gifted him a rose bush to add to his cherished garden.
Sarah Booth of Mercury Marine says they’ve never had a bad cleaning day in all 20 years with Kamal.
“He’s a perfectionist and very professional. He’s a lovely guy. We love Kamal,” she says.
Sarah and the team at Mercury Marine love Kamal’s generous spirit. During celebrations like Diwali and Christmas, he goes out of his way to spread some cheer by bringing morning tea or chocolates for everyone to enjoy.
Going above and beyond is second nature to Kamal. Sarah especially appreciates his flexibility in adjusting his cleaning schedule to accommodate international visitors. During covid, he went the extra mile, coming in almost daily to ensure the site was safe and clean.
“He just makes it all work without issue. We all enjoy his gentle, no-fuss energy,” says Sarah.
When the team hosts their regular mechanical training workshop and leaves communal spaces in a mess, Kamal is quick to restore everything back to pristine condition.
“We receive great service from Kamal,” says Sarah.
“He thinks ahead and pre-empts any stock issues or annual one-off jobs that we may require, such as carpet, floor or chair cleaning.”
Despite frequent offers from other cleaning companies, Sarah says Kamal is part of the Mercury Marine family and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s a no brainer – if it’s not broken why fix it? Kamal is polite and unassuming, and we haven’t got a single negative thing to say about him,” says Sarah.
“Thank you, Kamal, for 20 years of fabulous service.”
