Humble cleaning hero recognised for outstanding achievement
North Harbour franchise owners recently gathered to celebrate and recognise the exceptional efforts of their peers. Among those honoured was Sammy Cabacungan, who received the Outstanding Achievement Award for his unwavering dedication and exemplary service.
North Harbour Regional Master Franchisee Rachel Kumar was proud to present Sammy with the award, praising him for his high standard of work.
“Sammy is such a humble, respectable, and dedicated person. He shows so much love for his work and goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service to his customers,” she says.
“He is an outstanding franchisee and loved by his customers.”
Receiving the award came as a surprise to Sammy, who modestly says delivering exceptional customer service is simply part of his daily routine.
“It was a big surprise for me,” he says.
Six years ago, Sammy made a bold career change when he purchased a CrestClean franchise. He initially took a slow and steady approach as he settled into his role, but it wasn’t long before he established a reputation for delivering exceptional service and consistently maintaining a high standard.
“In the beginning, I doubted myself, but I was determined to keep going,” he says.
Sammy is dedicated beyond measure, and he hasn’t taken a day off since he began his journey with CrestClean six years ago. He goes to great lengths to ensure his customer receive timely and top-tier service, no matter what.
During Cyclone Gabrielle, road closures and unpredictable weather posed significant challenges. With State Highway 16 – his main route – blocked by flooding and a landslip, he was worried he might not make it to his cleaning sites. To eliminate that risk, he spent two nights in his van while he waited for the roads to clear, ensuring he could make it to his cleaning sites despite the circumstances.
“I didn’t want to gamble with going back home and becoming stranded,” he says.
Today, Sammy’s impressive client list includes many loyal customers who have trusted him from day one.
“I think they like me,” he laughs.
