Whangaparāoa College honours Daniel for his decade of dedication
North Harbour franchise owner Daniel Park has been dedicated to keeping the region’s largest customer, Whangaparāoa College, pristine for over a decade. In that time, he’s built a strong reputation for excellence. It’s no surprise that Daniel recently received an award for Excellence in Service for his outstanding commitment to the college.
North Harbour Regional Master Franchisee Rachel Kumar praises Daniel’s work ethic, noting that his high standards and exceptional customer service have been key factors in the region’s success.
“Daniel goes the extra mile and sets a high standard. His customer relations are top-notch,” says Rachel.
To honour Daniel’s contributions to Whangaparāoa College, Principal Steve McCracken presented him with the award at the school assembly.
“Daniel is an incredibly hard-working person. He has an incredibly strong work ethic,” says Steve.
“It’s people like Daniel that help make our school function.”
Property, HR & Administration Manager Ginny Catterall oversees the school’s property and cleaning arrangements. She says Daniel is a well-respected figure among the students and consistently maintains a high level of professionalism in his work.
“Daniel is very professional. He’s always polite and friendly,” she says.
“The kids know him very well and they love him.”
The staff at Whangaparāoa College consider Daniel an essential part of the team. They appreciate the scale of his role and admire his ability to handle it all without complaint.
“The staff love Daniel. They know what a big job he has during the course of his day at school, and they have huge respect for him,” says Ginny.
“He never makes a fuss. He just gets on with the job no matter what he’s facing.”
With 1,800 students at Whangaparāoa College, Daniel comes in during the day to keep the bathrooms clean and returns after hours to complete a thorough clean of the entire school along with other cleaners. His dedication to providing a clean, safe environment for the students is highly valued by the school community.
Going above and beyond is nothing new for Daniel. Ginny says he regularly pops in over the weekend to make sure no mess has been left behind by sports teams and other groups.
Thanks to Daniel’s willingness to go the extra mile, students arrive every Monday morning to a clean, welcoming school environment.
“He makes sure there’s never any mess for the kids to walk into,” says Ginny.
When school events fall outside regular hours, Daniel readily adjusts his cleaning schedule to accommodate them. Nothing is ever an issue – Daniel is always willing to help.
“There have been times when I’ve asked him to do an extra clean or change his time and there’s no question, he just does it,” she says.
“He’s part of the family. He’s really just part of the team.”
