Cleaning for a cause – volunteers restore the shine of St Joseph’s Hall

Maritess Felizardo and her church group ‘Couples for Christ’ get together to give St Joseph’s Hall a deep clean.

South Canterbury franchise owner Maritess ‘Tess’ Felizardo recently teamed up with her church group, Couples for Christ Timaru, to give St Joseph’s Hall a deep clean.

The hall is where the church meets each week, and while it’s always been lovingly looked after by parishioners, it hadn’t had a proper deep clean in a while. So Tess saw this as the perfect opportunity to give back.

With all the right gear and professional cleaning products from her CrestClean franchise, Tess was more than happy to lead the charge.

Maritess has earned a strong record of excellence in her time as a CrestClean franchise owner.

“I volunteered to lead the group and offer my CrestClean materials,” says Tess.

And the timing couldn’t have been better. Tess had recently attended CrestClean’s annual upskilling training, where one of the topics was managing stress and looking after your wellbeing. For Tess, giving back to her church is one of the ways she does just that.

“I did it to be with friends and to do something that has an impact on our community,” she says.

The church community was grateful for the team’s effort in restoring the hall to its best condition.

“They were very happy,” says Tess.

With a great team effort and such a sparkling result, Tess and her parish group have decided to do try and do this every few months.

Tess has been with CrestClean for more than three years and quickly set the bar high, earning seven Certificates of Excellence in her first seven months. With standards like that, you can bet the church hall has never looked better!

Being a franchise owner means a lot to Tess. It gives her the freedom to work around her family’s schedule. She values being able to be there for her kids while still going above and beyond for her customers.

Whether it’s at work or in the community, Tess is always ready to lend a hand – and she’s proving that a little kindness can go a long way.
