Seven years strong – Pushpa celebrates business milestone

Managing Director Grant McLauchlan presents Dunedin franchise owner Pushpa Wati with 7-Year Long Service Award.

Pushpa Wati’s business journey began not as a franchise owner, but as an employee of another CrestClean franchisee. But even in those early days, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was meant for more.

“I was thinking about it every day,” she says.

“At the time, I was doing more hours than I am now, but I was working for someone else.”

That persistent thought soon turned into action. When she brought up the idea of owning her own franchise to her husband, he told her to go for it. Now seven years later, Pushpa is the proud owner of a successful CrestClean franchise.

After securing a business loan, she launched her business and started working on her own. But she didn’t stay solo for long – her husband was quick to step in and support her. Thanks to her previous experience, she already understood the CrestClean Standard and hit the ground running.

“I already knew how to do all the cleaning, so I just carried on from there,” she says.

Pushpa’s commitment to her work and her customers has been the driving force behind her business success. She services three kindergartens in the Dunedin region and makes a point of getting to know her customers personally, often arriving early just to catch up with them.

“I’m not shy to talk to them,” she laughs.

“My customers are all very nice people.”

During a recent audit by Quality Assurance Co-ordinator Antoine Zoghbi, Pushpa’s customers made sure he knew just how much they valued her work.

Looking ahead, Pushpa has her sights set on growth. With encouragement and support from Antoine and Regional Managers Tony and Nicky Kramers, she’s confident she’ll be able to take her business to the next level when the time is right.

“They are great people – Tony, Nicky and Antoine. I love them.”

Pushpa has come a long way since those early days working for someone else. Not only does she now run her own business, but she’s also been able to buy her own home. This major milestone was made possible through sheer hard work. Best of all, she enjoys the freedom that comes with being her own boss.

“I’m happy to have my own business. Nobody’s the boss of me!”
