Atish serves up thank-you morning tea to first customers at Dairy Flat School

Atish Chand shows his appreciation to Dairy Flat School for six years of great partnership.

The staff at Dairy Flat School were recently treated to a special morning tea, thanks to their cleaning team, Atish Chand and Jim McManus. Wanting to show their appreciation, the North Harbour pair put on the spread as a way of saying thank you.

“They are very friendly staff,” says Atish, who makes a point of thanking his customers in this way at least once a year.

Dairy Flat School is especially meaningful to Atish. They were his very first customer when he bought his CrestClean franchise six years ago. Today, he and Jim clean the school together, sharing the workload.

Since then, Atish’s business has grown to include two large schools, Whangaparāoa School and Red Beach School, along with a variety of other customers, from kindergartens to Mitre 10. With such a busy workload, he often works until 11pm, but his expertise in school cleaning ensures everything gets done to a high standard.

North Harbour franchisees Jim McManus and Atish Chand share the cleaning at Dairy Flat School.

Despite the long hours, Atish enjoys the flexibility his franchise offers. After 10 years as a chef, he now has more time for his family and values being able to do things like the school run for his daughter – something he couldn’t do in his previous career.

Atish first purchased his North Harbour franchise while still living in South Auckland. He hit the ground running, but with all his customers on the other side of the city, it meant a daily commute of over an hour. After four years in business, Atish’s success allowed him to buy his first home in North Harbour, bringing him much closer to his customers. The franchise helped him reach this milestone far sooner than he had expected and he’s happy to spend far less time in the car.

“All my sites are now within 10 minutes of driving,” he laughs.

With strong customer relationships, a supportive community, and more time for his family, Atish is proud of what he has achieved. And he’s looking forward to many more successful years ahead!
