Colwill School principal celebrates lasting bond with dedicated CrestClean team
Colwill School has recently undergone a major upgrade, transforming the campus that first opened in 1979 into one that’s now almost entirely brand new.
After a $26 million rebuild that took nearly four years, the Massey-based primary school now has a fresh, modern look. With updated facilities and a roll of 270 students, the school relies on a cleaning team they know and trust to keep everything looking its best. That team is Auckland West franchise owners Tito and Missi Sufia.
For the past eight years, Tito and Missi have taken care of the school’s cleaning, becoming a well-loved part of the school community. So, when they were presented with their 10-Year Long Service Award as CrestClean franchisees, it felt only right that Colwill School be the ones to present it to them.
Principal Rob Taylor has led the school for 20 years and says bringing CrestClean onboard was a fantastic decision. After trialling in-house cleaning and finding it wasn’t working, the shift to CrestClean made a noticeable difference almost straight away. Rob says Tito and Missi are the best cleaning team the school has ever had.
“We’re hanging onto them as long as we can,” he says.
Every afternoon when the students head home, Tito and Missi arrive to prepare the school for the next day. While most of their work happens in the evenings, Rob says they are never far away when needed. Reliable and hardworking, the team is greatly appreciated by staff and students.
“They work really well for us and with us. They go the extra mile when needed, and they have a lovely connection with the school,” says Rob.
Tito also shares a deeply personal connection with Colwill School’s Senior Team Leader, Fia Unoi. Years ago, Tito worked alongside Fia’s father and, heartbreakingly, was the last person he spoke to before a tragic car accident. It’s a story that highlights just how meaningful Tito and Missi’s relationship with the school has become.
