Service with a smile – Kamal celebrates 20-year partnership with Perpetual Guardian

Twenty years is a long time to do anything well, but CrestClean franchisee Kamal Jeet Singh has done just that. He’s kept the Perpetual Guardian offices in Auckland spotless for two decade – always with a big smile.
As one of CrestClean’s longest-serving franchisees, Kamal has forged relationships that have truly stood the test of time. His partnership with Perpetual Guardian is just one of several that stretches back to the very early days of his business, and the reason it has lasted so long is simple – Kamal genuinely cares about the people he works with.
Remuera Branch Manager Glenn Radka says Kamal’s attention to detail is second to none, but it’s his personality that really makes him stand out.
“The place is immaculate. He’s very thorough with everything,” says Glenn.
“But it’s also his personality – he’s very friendly and outgoing.”

To celebrate 20 years working together, Kamal recently surprised the Remuera Perpetual Guardian team with a morning tea, a small gesture to say thank you for trusting him year after year.
Kamal arrives every weekday evening around 7pm and often sees staff who are working late. Instead of popping in and out unnoticed, he takes the time to say hello, ask how people are going, and check in on how their families are doing. Those short chats have helped turn a cleaning contract into a genuine relationship.
In the time he’s on site, Kamal moves through the entire office – kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms and shared spaces – making sure everything is spotless before he leaves. He takes pride in leaving the office looking its best every single night.
His friendly approach also makes communication easy. If there’s something extra that needs doing, Glenn knows Kamal will happily sort it. And it works both ways – Kamal feels comfortable flagging anything he notices that might need attention.
“When you’ve got someone like Kamal, you need to hold onto them,” says Glenn.
“Everyone speaks so fondly of him. We’re really happy with the job he does.”
Kamal is one of CrestClean’s true success stories. Arriving in New Zealand with just $50 in his pocket, his journey is nothing short of remarkable. Over 23 years, Kamal’s success has allowed him to buy a home, travel the world, and inspire others to invest in a franchise and create their own success stories.
