Rob’s on a roll helping Hokonui radio fundraise for Cancer Society

Toilet paper – we all need it. And with the help of Mid and South Canterbury Regional Manager Rob Glenie, you can get some and support a great cause at the same time!
Rob recently received a call from Ashburton’s local radio station, Hokonui. Breakfast Ashburton show host Luke Howden had a fun and unusual idea to raise funds for the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, taking place this Saturday, 21 March. The event brings Mid Canterbury community together to walk or run around the Ashburton A&P Showgrounds, supporting those affected by cancer while raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Society.
Luke’s idea was to sell toilet paper. Since both Hokonui and the Cancer Society are CrestClean customers, he called “Uncle Rob” to see if he could help source some rolls.
Always happy to support a good cause, Rob jumped straight on it. He rang his Alsco representative, Rachael O’Reilly, who reached out to their supplier, Tork. Amazingly, Tork and Alsco worked together to donate 20 mega packs of New Zealand made Tork Advanced Soft Conventional toilet paper to Hokonui radio station.
As Tork toilet paper is the only brand CrestClean buys from Alsco suppliers, Rob can personally vouch for its quality. This isn’t just any toilet paper – it’s ‘advanced’ toilet paper. Unlike standard supermarket rolls, these mega packs hold 48 individually wrapped luxury commercial grade toilet paper, each adorned with decorative leaves on the wrapper – the ultimate “aesthetically pleasing” toilet roll.
To kick off the toilet paper sales, Rob and Rachael headed to the radio station, where Luke interviewed them live on air. You can listen to the hilarious interview here.
There are 30 packs up for grabs, but Rachael says they can always get more if demand is high. And at just $50 per pack (just over $1 per roll) it’s a bargain for a great cause.
As Luke says – “toilet paper for the win!”
If you’re in Ashburton and want to grab your rolls while supporting the Cancer Society, place your order using this form: Toilet Paper for Relay for Life. The aim was to raise at least $1000 and they’re already on their way to reaching $1500!
“Thanks to the generous support of CrestClean and Alsco Uniform Fresh’n’Clean, 100% of the funds raised go straight to the Cancer Society.” – Luke Howden, Breakfast Ashburton host.
