Midland MRI recognises Samy Gounder’s 22 years of trusted service
For Hamilton franchise owner Dorsamy “Samy” Gounder, Midland MRI is where his CrestClean journey began. It was the very first site he was given when he started his franchise, and 22 years later, he’s still there five days a week and as reliable as ever.
A big part of that long-standing relationship is the trust built with Midland MRI Operational Manager Stephen Butler, who has worked alongside Samy since day one. Stephen has now stepped down from his role but made sure to recognise Samy’s contribution before leaving.
“Samy has been our cleaning contractor for 22 years and has fostered and achieved an excellent relationship,” says Stephen.
“He has been approachable and receptive to providing and improving service delivery and has promptly addressed any issues as they have arisen.”
As, Midland MRI expanded over the years, Samy’s role grew with it, and today he supports four major locations across Hamilton. He takes great pride in his role and has built a reputation as a trusted presence since day one. Because MRI settings are highly specialised, Samy was personally trained by Stephen when he first started, giving him a strong understanding of the care required in such a sensitive environment.
“I am proud that he has a great trust in me, and he knows I am very responsible and reliable,” says Samy.
“He won’t allow any other cleaner to enter the MRI scanning room because of its delicate safety rules and protocols.”
While technicians are responsible for the machines themselves, Samy looks after everything around them, making sure the space is always cleaned to a high standard. His attention to detail is backed by his training through CrestClean’s HealthClean® systems and processes, which helps him meet the strict protocols that come with working in healthcare settings.
Samy’s work covers everything from everyday cleaning through to more specialised services like carpet cleaning, window cleaning, and stripping and polishing hard floors. When extra work is needed, it’s simply taken care of without fuss – something Stephen and the team value greatly.
“At times we have requested additional services, such as carpet or furniture cleaning, and these have always been completed as requested and in convenient timeframes for our clients,” says Stephen.
From a single site two decades ago to four sites today, Samy has become a familiar, friendly face across Midland MRI in Hamilton. He says he genuinely values the strong relationships he’s built along the way.
