BestStart Kelvin Grove thanks Joseph for five years of going above and beyond

When Palmerston North franchise owner Maleyakkal Joseph arrived at BestStart Kelvin Grove recently, he was met with handmade cards, smiling faces, and a heartfelt performance of He Waka Eke Noa from the children and staff who wanted to thank him for everything he does.
The special celebration marked an important milestone for Joseph, who has now been part of the CrestClean family for five years. The team at BestStart Kelvin Grove greatly value the work he does, including regular cleaning, hard floor maintenance, and window cleaning. His efforts play an important role in keeping the centre clean, safe, and welcoming for the children who learn and play there each day.
To recognise his five years with CrestClean, Assistant Manager and Head Teacher Pip Peacock proudly presented Joseph with his five-year service certificate. Pip said his dedication and friendly nature make a real difference every day.
“We are so grateful for Joseph, our incredible BestStart Kelvin Grove cleaner, whose friendliness and dedication never go unnoticed. He goes above and beyond each day, not only keeping our space spotless but also bringing thoughtfulness and kindness to his work. We are truly thankful to have Joseph as part of our team—he is appreciated more than words can say”.
Joseph was genuinely moved by the surprise and kindness shown by the team and children. He feels proud to be considered part of the team at the centre.
“It was a really great moment for me,” says Joseph.
“I am very happy to be with them.”
The recognition is well deserved. Before purchasing a CrestClean franchise five years ago, Joseph worked as a support worker. Encouraged by a friend who was already a franchisee, he decided to take the leap into business ownership and hasn’t looked back since.
Today, he enjoys the flexibility and independence that comes with running his own business and has steadily grown his customer base over time. The increased income has helped him pay down his mortgage faster and improve his family’s lifestyle.
His wife Jenny works full-time as a nurse and lends a hand with school holiday cleans and larger deep-cleaning projects when needed.
Over the last five years, Joseph has built his business around looking after his customers. Although his customer base keeps him very busy, his focus is always the same – making sure everyone is happy. He regularly checks in to see if there’s anything extra he can help with and takes real pride in going beyond expectations.
“My customers are very happy,” he says.
“I always deliver a better service than they are expecting.”
Five years on, it’s Joseph’s commitment to going above and beyond that continues to earn him the trust and appreciation of all his customers.
