IPC trainer Arishma Chand raises healthcare cleaning standards across Auckland West
In just five years, Auckland West’s Arishma Chand has built an impressive career, growing from franchise owner to specialist Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) trainer for Auckland West.
With almost 19 years’ experience as a medical administrator, Arishma brings a strong understanding of healthcare environments and the requirements for preventing healthcare-acquired infections. She supports Auckland West teams through both online and in-person IPC training, building their confidence in clinical cleaning practices. She also visits customer sites alongside cleaning teams, taking time to understand each setting and ensuring the approach is tailored appropriately.
Her training covers everything from understanding site-specific signage and protocols to appropriate chemical use and compliance requirements. She ensures teams learn the practical details that help keep both staff and patients safe.
“When we meet with the customer, we learn from them so we can carry out our cleaning according to their procedures,” says Arishma.
Arishma takes real pride in passing on IPC knowledge, knowing it helps CrestClean teams work efficiently. Healthcare cleaning teams across Auckland West are in good hands under her guidance.
“It’s great to learn the new way – and smarter way – of cleaning,” she says.
“It’s a pleasure to teach this to other people.”
Arishma also looks back fondly on her early days as a franchise owner, when she received strong training right from the start. This gave her the confidence and knowledge to deliver work at a high standard from day one.

This year marks five years with CrestClean for Arishma and her husband Dharmen. Back in 2021, the couple were facing an uncertain future as economic pressures mounted and Dharmen’s employer considered shutting down. Recognising the need for a more financial security, they began looking at other options.
With extended family already part of CrestClean, they decided to give it a go, and it turned out to be a life-changing decision. Today, they are thriving business owners who genuinely enjoy what they do.
“I love all my jobs. I value everything I do,” says Arishma.
CrestClean has also helped the couple achieve things they had worked toward for years. One of the biggest milestones was buying their own home – something that had previously felt out of reach despite years of saving. It has also given them the freedom to travel, including annual trips back to Fiji to see and parents and trips to Canada to visit Dharmen’s parents.
With a steady daily routine and a strong commitment to ongoing learning, Arishma and Dharmen have built a solid foundation over the past five years. They continue to grow professionally and share their knowledge with other franchise teams, supporting them to succeed just like they have.
