Taraneti and Uetire reap the rewards of running their own business
Five years ago, life looked very different for Taraneti and Uetire Boueka. Taraneti was working as a healthcare assistant, and Uetire was at a capsicum greenhouse. Both worked long hours and struggled to spend time with family.
In 2021, wanting control over their schedules, they bought a CrestClean franchise in New Plymouth. CrestClean helped finance the remaining investment, allowing Taraneti and Uetire to realise their dream of owning a business.
The decision transformed their daily routine. Operating close to home allows the couple to structure their days around their family, a setup that became essential after welcoming their fourth daughter in 2022. While running a business alongside raising four children isn’t always easy, controlling their hours keeps things manageable. Taraneti often works alongside Uetire before heading home to make dinner and help with homework. Once the children are in bed, she can finish up any remaining work.
“It’s a lot better working for ourselves,” says Taraneti. “We can manage our time to make it suit with the family.”
Their hard work has put them in a much stronger financial position, enabling them to pay off their debt. Support from Regional Manager Naresh Mani has also helped them along the way.
“He’s a great manager, he’s really helpful. He’s a great leader,” says Taraneti.
What she appreciates most is knowing Naresh is always there when they need him.
Having initially joined after seeing friends and relatives succeed as franchise owners, the couple is now inspiring others. Taraneti’s sister and her husband recently purchased a franchise of their own.
“I always say to my family and my friends to give it a try,” says Taraneti. “When you enter into it, it’s great,” says Taraneti.
