A senior manager is singing the praises of CrestClean and its personnel for the high standard of work carried out at his company.

Gary Kirkland-Smith, Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager at Wiri Oil Services, said having good cleaners was paramount for the company.

“It’s very important and we can potentially have up to 1000 people come through this site over the course of a few months, so impressions count.”

The South Auckland company takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

“We get the directors of the four oil companies coming through here, and having the place in a clean condition is certainly important,” added Gary.

A CrestClean team was onsite over the Christmas break to work on several different floor areas. And the results were impressive, says Gary.

In particular, polished floors were left gleaming after a facelift, but the biggest surprise was the transformation of a badly-stained carpet in the boardroom, added Gary.

“They came up really well and the general manager was really surprised that they were able to get the carpets back in good condition. That’s a good news story as well.
“We had some really bad staining on the carpet in the boardroom and Crest got it all cleaned up, which is great.”

Gary said the company had a policy of rewarding good work and Crest franchisee Dinesh Prasad was given a $200 voucher for his hard work over the past year.

“We like to recognise people at the end of the year who have done good work for us.
Crest does a great job for us. We are happy to have him and he does a really good job.”

It’s the third consecutive year that Wiri Oil has recognised Dinesh in this way.

“I’m so proud to receive the voucher. I really enjoy working there and the staff are really friendly, from the people in the admin block to the drivers, everyone is nice and polite,” he said.

Dinesh is helped with the cleaning by his wife Annuragni and his dad Prem Prassad.

“We are a family business and we work really hard. This is my bread and butter and I really enjoy the work,” added Dinesh.

He said maintaining high standards of cleaning was key and he enjoys the regular upskilling courses run by the Master Cleaners Training Institute. “There is always something new to learn.”

Viky Narayan, Crest’s South Auckland Regional Manager, paid tribute to Dinesh. “He’s a very hard working member of our team.

“Wiri Oil has been very pleased with his work. Dinesh is very hard working and always goes the extra mile to keep his customers happy.

“In the cleaning industry it’s not often people get recognition and it’s testament to the hard work of our franchisees like Dinesh.”
