Vehicle audit wins-over potential customer
A CrestClean audit of franchisees’ vehicles was the deciding factor when a potential customer drove past and was impressed by what he saw.
The man had gone on a Saturday morning drive in search of a coffee shop when he chanced upon the neat line-up of CrestClean cars being inspected at the Wellington audit.
A few days earlier he’d met Crest’s Hutt Valley Regional Manager Zainab Ali and had asked her to prepare a quote for cleaning the centre he manages.
Zainab said when the man rang to accept Crest’s quote he explained the reason why he was more than happy to proceed.
“He said ‘I watched you guys on Saturday and I was so impressed with what you were doing. I could see you were doing some kind of checks on the vehicles.
‘It gave me the surety that quality matters to you guys’.”
Franchisees’ vehicles are audited regularly to ensure they meet compliance guidelines as part of the company’s Safety and Environmental Management System. Equipment is also checked to ensure it is clean and correctly stored.
Zainab said until that moment the customer had been unaware of the importance CrestClean puts on Health and Safety.
“It was the deciding factor for him,” she added.
“He didn’t realise we did things like vehicle audits. He said it really meant a lot to know that ‘you guys are constantly doing checks’.
The man recognised Zainab and Wellington Regional Manager Richard Brodie, who were helping with the audit.
“He was actually looking for a nice place to stop for coffee, and he said he just happened to go by all our vehicles and said they all looked really good,” said Zainab.
More than 50 CrestClean franchisees’ vehicles, including cleaning materials and equipment, were checked over during the audit.
Philip Wilson, Wellington Quality Assurance Co-ordinator, was pleased with how the checks had gone.
“Each vehicle audit that I’ve been a part of has highlighted to me a growing standard of compliance within CrestClean.
“It’s quite a sight for locals when we have 10 plus vehicles lined up on the street ready to be audited.”
Philip said the audits were also a great chance for CrestClean teams to interact with one another.
“Quite a few of our teams use the chance to swap cleaning tips and ideas and don’t miss an opportunity to show off their cars!
“We have expedited our process of auditing vehicles by utilising CrestClean’s new online vehicle audit app. The app is very user friendly.”
The CrestClean vehicle audit is an extremely worthwhile exercise, added Philip.
“All of our teams’ vehicles are audited against CrestClean compliance standards, ranging from Health and Safety checks right into checking dilution rates on their chemicals.”
The audits are also being used as an opportunity to issue all franchisees with the new specially made bags for cleaning cloths.
“All of our teams were very happy with their new CrestClean cloth bags and thought they would be very helpful in keeping their cloths organised,” added Philip.
