It wasn’t just friends and relatives who celebrated with Payal Venakr and Sam Nand on their big day.

Their CrestClean ‘’family’’ was also on hand to wish the happy couple well when they tied the knot in Christchurch.

Payal and Sam, who bought a CrestClean business six months ago, were delighted that fellow franchise owners were able to attend their wedding.

“It was very nice to see my colleagues there to support us on our special day,” says Sam.

Yasa Panagoda, CrestClean’s Christchurch North Regional Manager, says it was a memorable occasion. “At CrestClean we are all one big family so it was wonderful to be there for Payal and Sam on the most important day of their lives and wish them every happiness for the future.”

Originally from Fiji, Sam has been in New Zealand for 12 years and has a daytime job driving buses in Christchurch. Payal works as a chef at a cafe in the city.

Sam, who popped the big question two years ago, has his mum Josephine Hadfield to thank for playing Cupid. She brought them together after meeting Payal at the church they attend.

“My mum thought this is the right one,” says Sam. “My mum grabbed her number and gave it to me.”

More than 200 guests attended the couple’s wedding. They had a few days in Queenstown for their honeymoon.

Owning a CrestClean business and the additional income it generates is part of the couple’s plan of becoming homeowners. “We are planning to buy a house within the next two years with the extra money from working in the evenings cleaning,” says Sam.
