Being his own boss leaves plenty of time for young family
He’s got his hands full with a new addition to the family but the busy dad still finds plenty of time to spend with baby Ella.
Royce Park and his wife Hannah, who are originally from Korea, love the flexibility that comes with owning a CrestClean franchise. It means Royce also gets to see a lot of his other daughters Siena, 4, Aria, 2, before he leaves home later in the day.
Before buying a cleaning business in Hawke’s Bay, Royce worked as manager of the Dollar King shop in Napier. “When I worked at the shop it meant I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with my children,” he says.
“Now I can see my kids in the daytime before I start my work.”
Since joining CrestClean, Royce and Hannah have expanded their business, with Royce having upskilled and now able to offer hard floor care as an additional service to customers.
Abby Latu, CrestClean’s Hawke’s Bay Regional Manager, says the couple are enjoying the freedom of working for themselves.
“With having their own business it has been super flexible for them to extend their family.
“Hannah is loving being home with her new-born baby at this special time. Meanwhile, Royce has employed someone to help him clean his sites while his wife takes some time out. It’s all working out really well for them.
“They have grown their business to nearly $100,000 and they have plans to buy their first house.”
The couple get great feedback from their customers, who include schools, a kindergarten and offices. “It’s good when the customers are happy and you get nice comments and feedback about your work,” says Royce.
