Three Auckland East teams celebrate 15-year milestone together

Vijay Nand, Geeta Sharma and Madukesh Kumar celebrated their 15-Year Long Service alongside Managing Director Grant McLauchlan and Regional Master Franchisee Linda Hill.

Three CrestClean teams in Auckland East recently celebrated their 15-year milestone together. Geeta Sharma, Madukesh Kumar, and Vijay Nand were honoured for their dedication at a celebratory lunch alongside Auckland East Regional Master Franchisee Linda Hill and Managing Director Grant Mclauchlan.

Geeta’s story highlights the opportunities that being a CrestClean franchisee offers. When her husband Anand faced redundancy, Geeta proposed a bold move – purchasing a cleaning franchise. The day they finalised their purchase, Anand’s luck suddenly turned around.

“The day we bought the business was the same day Anand got a new job. It was such good luck, but we said we were still going to do the business. When we started training, Anand started his new job too,” says Geeta.

Both Anand and Geeta have continued to work in their full-time jobs, supplementing their income with their earnings from CrestClean. The additional income has meant they’ve been able to support family back in Fiji and achieve their goals faster than expected.

Within two years as CrestClean franchisees, Anand and Geeta had saved enough to buy properties and cars in New Zealand. The couple also return to Fiji at least once a year to visit family and friends.

“We’ve achieved a lot, and we are so happy and so proud,” says Geeta.

Some of Anand and Geeta’s customers have been with them since day one. Geeta loves going to her sites a little earlier so she can catch up with her customers.

“I always go in earlier when I want to see them because they are so funny,” says Geeta.

“Our customers are so happy with us. They are really friendly to me. They really respect me,” says Geeta.

Anand and Geeta’s dedication is echoed by Madukesh and Ireen Kumar, who joined CrestClean two months after Anand and Geeta for similar reasons: financial security and flexibility.

Like Anand and Geeta, Madukesh and Ireen hold full-time jobs and manage their cleans in the evenings. Madukesh is a Logistics Coordinator for a screen-printing company and Ireen is a Health Care Assistant. With the extra income, Madukesh and Ireen have managed to accomplish great things, from purchasing properties to taking regular trips overseas.

“We wanted to be financially independent,” says Madukesh.

“We are very proud to be with CrestClean and we enjoy the financial freedom.”

The celebration also marked a 15-year milestone for Vijay Nand. Vijay is an ex-police superintendent with a fascinating career history. He spent two years in Bosnia as a Contingent Commander for the United Nations before coming to New Zealand.

Before joining CrestClean, Vijay had various roles in insurance, real estate and as a contractor with ADT cash services.

After hearing about CrestClean from friends, Vijay’s career took an entirely new direction.

“I decided to do something different where I had flexibility and an income for my family. I was also looking at something that I can manage,” says Vijay.

Vijay still has some of his original customers who consider him invaluable. He attributes his long-standing customer relationships to his high standard of work and friendly nature.

“15 years of service has had great impact on my life,” he says.

“Special appreciation to Linda Hill for being so professional and standing by us when in need.”

Linda Hill proudly presented Geeta, Vijay and Madukesh with their awards, highlighting their remarkable success as CrestClean franchisees.

“These three teams started with CrestClean 15 years ago and are still going strong.  All three of them have some of the customers that they began with 15 years ago,” says Linda.

“In my six years with CrestClean, I have never had a single complaint about any one of them. It is their attitude to great customer service and getting on and doing the small things they are asked for by the customer.”
