Big month of milestones for Hamilton’s newest franchise owner

Hamilton’s newest franchise owner Sumesh Sasi gives blood at NZ Blood before a training session with Riteshni Chand.

It’s a big month for Sumesh Sasi – and not just because he’s launching his very own CrestClean business. April 2025 marks two major milestones for the Hamilton-based entrepreneur. He’s expecting his second child and starting his journey as a franchise owner.

“I am going to have two happy moments in April 2025. I am having a baby this month and starting a cleaning business this month,” he says.

Originally from India, Sumesh and his family moved to New Zealand just 11 months ago after living in Qatar. From the start, he had one clear goal in mind – to start his own business.

“When I came here, my ambition was to start a business. After searching and speaking to friends, I came to the conclusion that this is the best cleaning company in New Zealand,” he says.

This month, he’s achieving that goal. Sumesh recently completed his training under Riteshni Chand who cleans NZ Blood in Hamilton. During his time there, he also took the opportunity to do something meaningful – donating blood for the first time since arriving in New Zealand. It wasn’t planned, but when he saw a group of people giving blood, he felt inspired to join them.

With everything ready to go, Sumesh is all set to hit the ground running. He’s already got his first customer lined up – a local school – which gives him a great foundation of stability and consistency as he starts his journey in the cleaning industry.

After a year of change for Sumesh, April is shaping up to be his most life-changing yet. With two major life milestones on the horizon, he has every reason to feel excited about the future.
