Newlyweds Aman and Karishma celebrate a year of remarkable business growth

Dunedin franchise owners Aman Chand and Karishma Devi have tripled the size of their business in just one year.

Aman Chand and Karishma Devi may be new franchise owners, but in just one year they’ve tripled their CrestClean business. Their journey has been fast-paced and full of hard work, but with a strong partnership at the heart of it all, they’re thriving.

Before stepping into business ownership, Aman spent four years working under franchisee Savita Prasad while studying towards a Bachelor of Information Technology. He quickly earned a reputation for being reliable, hardworking, and consistently maintaining high standards.

In 2022, Aman met Karishma at a function hosted by Savita. Their connection quickly blossomed, and they were married in May 2024. Just a couple of months later, they made the decision to go into business together.

“I was quite interested in having my own franchise, so after we got married we both decided it would be a good investment. We both wanted a fresh start and to plan ahead,” says Aman.

Karishma was on board from the beginning.

“When I first met Aman, he told me about his dreams. He wanted to have a business of his own, so now we work together,” she says.

As a registered nurse, Karishma works day shifts while supporting Aman in the afternoons at their cleaning sites. But it’s all about balance, and the couple makes sure they support each other.

“I am fortunate to have a husband like Aman. He is very understanding and looks after me well. If I’m tired, he understands and supports me,” says Karishma.

During his time working with Savita, Aman built strong relationships with Dunedin Regional Managers Tony and Nicky Kramers, as well as Quality Assurance Co-ordinator Antoine Zoghbi. They recognised his potential and encouraged the couple to start their own franchise.

“Tony, Nicky and Antoine were very supportive. They told us to go for it. All three of them are behind our success,” says Aman.

Today, Aman and Karishma look after a range of customers, from schools to offices. Aman is well known for his cheerful personality and strong customer relationships.

“They know me from my smiley face,” he laughs.

“They are all friendly to me. We always check in with them and ask if there’s anything that needs attention or if they’d like us to do anything extra.”

Dunedin’s Regional Managers and Quality Assurance Co-ordinator are proud of how far the couple has come.

“Aman and Karishma are a highly valued team in Dunedin, and we wish them the best and expect their business to continue growing strongly,” says Antoine.

Next on the list for Aman and Karishma is buying a house, and with their dedication and drive, it’s only a matter of time. In the meantime, Aman says they’re staying focused on delivering the same service that’s made their business a success so far.

“We’re going to maintain our quality of work and keep our customers happy.”
