Lockdown increases earnings for Auckland franchisees
Ali Irshad and Sheema Ali are thankful to own a business that has not been impacted negatively by Covid lockdowns.
In fact, their income has increased, and they have been able to offer more work to one of their employees who lost his other income stream.
“My wife and I are so happy that we made the choice to buy a CrestClean franchise. We’re not stressing at all,” says Ali.
“We are earning more than we used to, it’s awesome.”
The Auckland couple bought a CrestClean business 10 years ago and have since weathered three Level 4 lockdowns.
In the latest lockdown, despite three of their customers putting their cleaning services on hold, their income increased by 10 per cent.
“A lot of sanitising work came up. One of my larger essential services customers requested six hours of sanitising a day, Monday to Friday,” says Ali.
“An employee of ours lost his day job during the lockdown, so he was really happy to do the work.”
It was the same during previous lockdowns, he says.
“We definitely made the right choice.”
Ali says he and Sheema have been well supported by CrestClean during the changing Covid alert levels, with regular updates from the company.
“The communication has been great. We are kept up to date with texts and emails. They couldn’t do any better.”
Having completed pandemic training with CrestClean’s Master Cleaners Training Institute, they also felt safe and competent in carrying out the work.
“We felt safe from day one and this time is no different. We have confidence in what we need to do to keep ourselves and our customers safe.”
